I stayed at a hotel in Tokyo that had a samue in the room that I liked so much I wanted to buy one. This pink samue is even better than the hotel’s loan, it’s so comfortable and soft with great attention to detail. I was kept informed of the delivery progress from Japan to the UK and when it arrived I was impressed with the quality of the packaging.
The samue is really well made and fitted. the service is excellent and delivery free and fast
Beautiful fabric, color and quality. This will be very cozy to wear in the winter! The only thing is to be aware that the size is quite big, larger than I was expecting. It is designed to go over a kimono while I’ll be wearing it with western clothing.

Intrigued with many Japanese Customs snd habits, i ordered a Samue outfit, to get me in the mood for Japanese cleaning habits in the morning, kind of like a uniform.
And it does more than that! I simply love to wear it, even when not cleaning and going for a leisurely walk

I purchased the Samue jacket and lounge pants as a gift to my husband, who is a big fun of Japanese culture, having studied and lived in Japan for three years.
He did love it and complimented the finesse and quality of the material.

As others have mentioned -- the experience of buying this is great.
However, the top has two "tassels" you to tie to close the front. One in the left on the inside; and one on the right on the outside. Both of these end of sticking into you ribs when you lie on your side! (I tied a simple bow)
For all the fancy cotton and washing instructions.... In the end.... The knots sticking into my ribs had actually woke me up. 😒.
Definitely not worth the price with this design flaw.

I'm sorry to hear that you found the samue uncomfortable to sleep in. This style of pajamas is very popular here in Japan, but as with any PJs, they might not be an ideal fit for everyone.
If you find the inner toggles uncomfortable, you can leave them undone during sleep – their main function is to keep the jacket in place while walking around, so it's not necessary to keep them tied while you're in bed.
Additionally, the fabric will become softer over time, which should enhance the comfort.

The haori jacket is just fabulous, excellent quality, soft yet resistant, easy to wash, no ironing needed. I wear it almost every day, it made it straight to the top of my favourite pieces of clothing. Beautiful in color and style. Probably needs a few washings to not be a bit stiff, but it says to wash separately. It will be a great robe to wear on vacation and alternately at home.
